The Prague Garrison Command (PGC) falls under the Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces. It is the primary body responsible for garrison services in the capital, garrison-wide activities with the participation of service personnel, and dealing with other garrison matters including public outreach activities. It provides its services for protocol activities of the President, the Parliament, the Government and the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic and represents the Czech Armed Forces upon request by the Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces.
The Prague Garrison Command also fulfils tasks in cooperation with combat and crisis mobilization units as defined in the Prague Garrison defence planning. It organizes unit location in the Prague garrison. The Command cooperates with the Integrated Rescue System forces, the Prague City Hall, and the city halls of individual city districts.
The PGC oversees the operation of the Honour Guard Battalion of the Czech Armed Forces. The garrison library of the PGC provides information, culture and education in the Prague garrison.
